Tbilisi, Georgia: Tbilisi hosted the annual ZERO COMPROMISE natural wine festival on May 2–3 and displayed over 100 wineries from Georgia and abroad. This natural wine festival was held within the framework of the state program of popularizing Georgian wine production.
The festival is organized by the Natural Wine Association, which also runs the country’s two main natural wine festivals- Amerimeri and ZERO COMPROMISE, with the support of the National Wine Agency of Georgia.
It is worth noting that the National Wine Agency, in coordination with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture has been implementing the state program for the promotion of Georgian wine production in the local market.
It is noteworthy that wine exhibitions, competitions, and festivals are being held throughout Georgia, within the framework of the program. These are also important for increasing wine tourism potential and wine consumption culture.
History of ZERO COMPROMISE Wine Festival
The annual festival “ZERO COMPROMISE” has been run since 2018 under the initiative of the association “Natural Wine“. This year, the festival is attended by 84 local members and 30 farms from different countries. The different countries are: France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Japan, Australia, Taiwan, Mexico, Turkey and Slovenia.
Moreover, Vineyard winemakers participating in the festival do not use systemic drugs, mineral fertilizers, and herbicides in the vineyards, they make wine without any industrial additives. This is how the wine is set is called “natural wine.” It should be noted that the festival unites producers, who prepare the wine traditionally.
Highlights of ZERO COMPROMISE Wine Festival
The festival showcases these traditional winemaking methods. Each year, the event attracts wine importers, journalists, writers, and professionals worldwide. This offers Georgian winemakers the opportunity to present their products directly to potential buyers. This year, with support from the National Wine Agency, American wine professionals and international experts are attending the festival.
In addition to tastings, festival guests had the opportunity to purchase wine at affordable prices. Festival guests were also able to enjoy a diverse culinary experience.
Notably, Various food outlets will present both Georgian and European culinary masterpieces. Attendees can enjoy delicious burgers, sandwiches, Mexican tacos, khachapuri, pies, pizza, lesbian, and other delicacies.
