Tbilisi: The two protesters who are citizens of Russia were part of anti-government protests alleged police tortures. They also cried attempt sexual violence during custody.
It is also worth to note that there are large scale protests being held against government being led by Georgian Dream party. The people are opposing decision of the Government to postpone talks on Georgia accession to European Union.
These two Russian protesters namely Anastasia Zinovkina and Artem Gribul has been detained under criminal law provisions. The law enforcer accused both of them for possession illegal drugs. However on the other hand both of them refused claims of police and said they are being punished just their opposition to ruling party Georgian dream for its anti-people policies.
The detainees namely Zinovkina revealed in court that she was subjected to sexual violence, She explained that the member of law enforcement agencies touched her genitals and threat to punish her.
The police said they have received the information about the possession of drugs. So after receiving this important information we have reached to spot and arrested for their alleged involvement in possession of drugs.
The lawyer of arrested Russian citizens undefined that, court did not give them permission to collect CCTV footage from supermarket which according to them reinforces their suspicion that production office is not interested in stabilising truths.
It is worth to note that recently a journalist was also arrested for her participation in the anti-government protests. She was initially arrested on administrative ground but later on was charged with primal offence also.
She is on hunger strike against her detention other since last one month. As per the members of law enforcement agencies she attacked a police officer who was on duty.
On the other hand, journalist blamed that she is being made scapegoat just because of her political affiliation. People from across India are claiming that she is innocent and authorities are punishing her illegally.
