The Opposition Party of Trinidad and Tobago, United National Congress described PNM’s legacy as one of betrayal. The UNC criticized the PNM government and said that their legacy is written in blood-stained streets, broken promises, and burdened lives.
Slamming the PNM Government, the Opposition Party, UNC emphasized that after decades of suffering, the people of Trinidad and Tobago now deserve better. They added that the only path to rescue and rebuild the nation is with the UNC.
Shedding light on the work of PNM Government, the UNC leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar noted that the decade during which the PNM government served was one of deaths, deficits, destabilization, death and destruction.
She continued and said, “Their legacy is blood-stained streets and bloody red bed sheets. Their legacy is bloated bodies and bulging body bags. Their legacy is bullet busted heads and blown out brains. Their legacy is beautiful babies blown to bits in their beds. Their legacy is buried bodies being ripped out of graves and burnt. Their legacy is about having balling mothers and families.”
The UNC leader noted that the PNM Government has done nothing but just betraying and backstabbing the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago. The UNC party also criticized the PNM for wasting over $17 billion on extravagant paintings, and questionable deals.
The UNC leader Kamla Persad expressed frustration on PNM and said, “Enough is enough.” She added that the UNC party is committed to cutting corruption and building real revenue streams with a vision to uplift the people of Trinidad and Tobago. She also requested the citizens to not be fooled by lies and poor strategies of the PNM party.
Kamla Persad, however, noted that its time to bring change in Trinidad and Tobago. She added that it is a time to bring transparency, accountability, and real leadership in the nation. She further reiterated her commitment to continuing to make efforts with a vision to lead Trinidad and Tobago towards growth and development.
