World Health Day is celebrated each and every year on April 7 so that they can spread awareness under the sponsorship of the World Health Organization (WHO) and other related organizations.
In 1948, the WHO held the First and foremost World Health Assembly. The Assembly decided in their conference that they will celebrate this year on April 7 of every year, with development from 1950, as World Health Day.
World Health Day is maintained to mark WHO’s founding and is seen as an option to draw worldwide awareness to a subject of significant essential to global health each year.
The WHO organizes international, national and local events on the Day related to a particular theme. Various governments and non-governmental organizations acknowledge world Health Day with interests in public health issues, who also organize activities and emphasize their back in media reports, like Global Health Council.
World Health Day is one of the 11 official global health campaigns characterized by WHO, along with World Tuberculosis Day, World Immunization Week, World Malaria Day, World No Tobacco Day, World AIDS Day, World Blood Donor Day, World Chagas Disease Day, World Patient Safety Day, World Antimicrobial Awareness Week and World Hepatitis Day.
Before talking about World Health Day, we first need to talk about creating World Health Organization as a whole.
In December 1945, officials of Brazil and China suggested the outcome of an international health organization that is all-encompassing and independent from any government powers.
After one and a half years, in New York, in July 1946, the constitution of the World Health Organization was approved. Communicated constitution entered into force on April 7, 1948, as 61 countries signed an agreement for the inception of the NGO.
As one of WHO’s first official acts, they created the celebration of World Health Day. It was first celebrated on July 22, 1949, but the date was later changed to April 7, WHO’s installation, to encourage student participation.
Since 1950, Worth Health Day has used a different theme every year, and the current WHO Director-General selected the theme based on the suggestions of the member governments and staff.
World Health Day provides a global possibility to focus attention on important public health issues that affect the international community. On World Health Day, promotional programs are launched that continue for a long time after April 7.
Each year April 7, the world Health Organization choose a special theme and this year, the theme is wellness and the medical world. So that they can fight for their mental health in order to insurance, and everything these days sets a tone for what to come on the world stage.
