Tbilisi: The wine sector of republic of Georgia has once again achieved remarkable milestone. The wine exports from country has been increased by 25 percent in 2024 than previous year as per latest data.
This big news is also shared by the ministry of environment protection and agriculture while taking to their social media handles. The official Facebook page of University stated that, “In last year 2024 565 million US dollars worth of wine and spirits have been exported from Georgia. This large quantity is 24% higher than the analogical data of 2023.”
The further data released today further revealed that, “In last year 95 million litters of wine worth 276.1 million US dollars were exported from Georgia to 72 countries of the world. Compared to the analogical period of 2023 the quantity amount was 6%, and the income growth was 7%.
The data also mention the names of country along with amount of wine exported as well. The hight quality of Georgian wine has been exported to Poland – 12% (6.7 million liters).
At the same time Poland was followed by Germany with 30% (1.28 million liters),USA – 32% (1,2 million liters), Lithuania – 11% (707 thousand liters), Great Britain – 42% (425,6 thousand liters),Turkey – 62% (538 thousand liters), Azerbaijan – 34% (237 thousand liters) respectively.
Similarity wine quantity exported to Canada is 16% (198 thousand liters) whereas to Israel – 2% (314 thousand liters),United Arab Emirates – 80% (70 thousand liters),South Korea – 26% (72.5 thousand liters) wine from Georgia was exported last year which is higher than last years.
Notably Georgia is known as the wine capital of world. The oldest method of wine making is still exited in remote rural areas of country. The national wine agency of Georgia also expressed its happiness over this significant development. The national wine agency of Georgia used to host event and organise seminar throughout the world to promote Georgian wine.
The wine growers assocation also welcomed this achivement, They hopes for more such success story in coming years also with collective efforts.
