Irakli Kobakhidze, the Prime Minister of Georgia inaugurated a new project to build 1,700 apartments. The new apartments will accommodate people who falls under the category of displaced families.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and many other government representatives were present. Notably, the Minister of IDPs(Internally Displaced Persons) from the occupied territories, Labor, Health and Social Protection Mikheil Sarjveladze and General Director of “Anagi” company Irakli Gogolishvili were also present.
The Prime Minister, along with others, has dropped a symbolic capsule into the area designated for construction. In Zugdidi , adjacent to Janashia Street, seven buildings will be built according to modern standards. It is worth noting that the project will be implemented by the Anagi company.
Moreover the total amount of the project is 191,012,850 GEL. At the same time, construction of new buildings for internally displaced families is underway in five cities of Georgia. According to the sources, 11 modern-standard buildings have been built for IDP families in Tbilisi, the capital city of Georgia.
They are being constructed on the street of Llochrelidze and fully renovated apartments will be handed over to 2,400 IDP families at the end of 2025. Similarly, in Kutaisi, the construction of three twelve-story buildings has already been completed and according to city hall officials, the keys to new apartments will be given to displaced families very soon.
It should also be added that construction works are actively underway in Rustavi and Borjomi. 800 such apartments will also be built in Rustavi. In Borjomi 150 apartments for displaced families are being constructed and are scheduled to be delivered to needy families soon.
The displaced family has been facing many problems as they don’t have proper accommodation. The Prime Minister announced that the government will also take the initiative in the future. Many social organisations have lauded the efforts of governments to provide world-class in this direction.
