KYIV: The United States, on Monday, has promised to facilitate air-defence systems following the aerial attacks from Russia on the capital city of Ukraine i.e. Kyiv that killed at least 14 citizens. Soon after the attack, a telephone conversation was held between the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the President of the United States, Joe Biden.

Washington stated that President Joe Biden denounced the Russian missile attacks over the capital city. Moreover, he paid his condolences to the family and relatives of those who lost their dear ones as a consequence of the attacks.

The US president has also pledged to assure the supply of necessary defence assistance, including modern air defence systems. The White House cited Biden as saying that Biden has been continuously in touch with its allies and partners to continue to pressure Russia and exert financial pressure on it while holding it responsible for all the crimes it has committed in the face of the war.

The Russian military forces, on Monday, launched missile attacks on almost the entire Ukrainian territory, including its capital, Kyiv. The capital city had been relatively calm for a few months, but on Monday, things had turned worse for it.

The attacks had killed nearly 14 citizens while 97 were left severly injured. The Ukrainian authorities reported the loss of nearly 70 infrastructure facilities, including 40 residential, civilian and critically important energy buildings.

The General Staff of the Armed Ukrainian Forces said Russia had used more than 80 cruise missiles in the attack. However, the Ukrainian air defence system destroyed half of them.

At the same time, Germany announced its plans to send the first of the four latest IRIS-T air defence systems of Ukraine in response to the bombing of Kyiv on Monday.

Germany delivers the first of four IRIS-T SLM air defence systems to Ukraine. The latest Russian missile attacks on Kyiv and other cities signify the importance of the air defence capability for Ukraine’s self-defence is,” the Russian defence ministry tweeted.
