Tbilisi: Otar Shamugia, Georgia’s Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture met with the Saudi Arabian delegation. The Minister informed the members of this delegation on various investment opportunities in Georgia’s Agricultural sector by Saudi Arabian investors.
The delegation from Saudi Arabia is being led by the Chairman of the Federation of United Chambers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Hassan Al-Huwaiz. It includes many representatives of the business sector.
At the meeting the parties discussed the possibilities of investing in Georgia’s agricultural sector and the prospects of deepening trade relations so that businessmen from both countries could have exposure to the other country’s market.
While addressing the attendees the Georgian minister noted that there is effective trade and economic cooperation between the countries, which has a great potential for expansion for the Republic of Georgia as well as Saudi Arabia.
Minister Otar Shamugia also spoke in detail about Georgia’s flexible investment environment and provided extensive information to Saudi Arabia’s business sector representatives about the state support programs for the development of the agricultural sector in the country.
It is worth noting that at the meeting they discussed the possibility of increasing the export of agricultural products from the country. Some products that will be imported and exported include nut crops, juices, vegetable juices and blueberries.
On the other hand the chairman of the Federation of United Chambers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia thanked the minister for his hospitality. He also said that Georgia has great potential for agricultural development and is an interesting country for investment.
The representative of Saudi Arabia’s business sector also expressed hopes that in the future, they would like to explore investment opportunities in Georgia. According to Saudi Arabia’s businessmen, investment in Georgia will boost the scope of increased imports and exports from other sides. They also asked their Georgian counterparts to invest in Saudi Arabia.
