The guests also received information about the ongoing projects and scientific activities implemented by the Agricultural Scientific and Research Center.
The base of Jighaura is the most important base of Georgia’s agrarian and scientific development, where the unique genetic resources and biodiversity of our country are gathered. In 2007, with the direct involvement and initiative of Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili, the creation of this base began, which today has become a scientific and educational center of national importance.
“Within the framework of the development of the base, special importance is given to the construction of a genetic bank, which provides the protection, preservation, and transfer of unique genetic resources to future generations.” Meetings like this provide an opportunity for young people to learn about the achievements, challenges, and development prospects of the agricultural sector. Active involvement of young people and deepening their knowledge is one of the important preconditions for sustainable development of the country, – said Lasha Dolidze.
During their visit to Jighaura, the trainees of the Parliamentary Apparatus and the young members of the Parliament also attended the meeting of the Committee on Agriculture, where they had the opportunity to get acquainted with the practical aspects of Parliament’s activities, the process of forming field policies, and decision-making mechanisms.
During the event, Levan Ujmajuridze, Director of the Agricultural Scientific-Research Center, introduced to the youth the main directions of the center, implemented projects, achieved results, and discussed plans.
