The Ministry of Health of the Adjara region has been working continuously to provide better health services to citizens. In coordination with many other agencies, the ministry has implemented many projects in this direction as well.
The Ministry of Health along with health services is also making efforts for safe, affordable housing. It is one of the main priorities of the Ministry of Health of Adjara and the Government of Adjara to provide the population with safe housing so that they can live in safe, healthy facilities.
According to the Ministry representative  to meet its goals, several systemic changes were implemented in the past and have also been planned for the future. These include legal amendments and implementation of disaster prevention measures.
At the same time funding for affected families has been increased. Similarly the construction of multi-apartment safe housing units has also started.
Notably from 2013 to today, 23 million GEL has been allocated from the Adjara government’s reserve fund. This fund will be used to help families affected by natural disasters and fires. Moreover, since the scheme’s beginning, assistance has been provided to 5,300 families.
The program of providing housing for eco-migrant families was launched in 2016. After considering the existing status of ground situations, the share of co-financing for families affected by natural disasters has also been doubled.
837 families have bought safe housing in the region and more than 26 million GEL was allocated for this purpose. According to the government of Adjara’s decision in 2019, the construction of multi-apartment residential houses began in order to improve the living conditions of compactly settled families in the city of dreams.
According to the recommendation of a government commission, 582 families of different social statuses were given ownership of furnished apartments in 2024 after their eligibility was assessed.
