Georgia: The Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia Alexander Tsuladze hosted the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Georgia, Zhou Tiani.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia posted the glimpses of the meeting on its official Facebook page on February 8, 2025, Saturday.
The Ministry also shared a small note about their meeting. It should be noted that, at the meeting, the sides discussed the measures by which they could strengthen their partnership in the education and science sector. They also assessed the current cooperation between the two countries and discussed various plans to improve their collaboration.
According to the information shared by the Ministry, it is noteworthy that, Minister Tsuladze introduced various educational projects to the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Emergency and Plenipotentiary.
The conversation touched upon several memorandums signed in education and science, including strengthening foreign language teaching in Georgian schools and deepening partnerships in science and higher education.
On this occasion, the parties further discuss the measures that need to be introduced to boost cooperation in political, economic, tourism, and cultural-humanitarian fields between the Republic of Georgia and people in the Republic of China.
As Alexader Tsuladze noted, offering diverse opportunities for students in Georgian general education institutions in terms of choosing foreign languages is one of the priorities of the Ministry. According to him, along with other languages, Georgian pupils successfully mastered the Chinese language.
As noted at the meeting, the ministries of education of the two countries are actively working on the draft agreement “Bilateral Recognition of Higher Education Degrees and Certificates between the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia“.
The Chinese ambassador positively assessed the projects implemented and ongoing in the Georgian education system and thanked Alexander Tsuladze for his many years of cooperation. He stressed the potential for deepening cooperation in the fields of politics, trade and economy, tourism, cultural and humanitarian affairs and people-to-people relations.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on the expansion of cooperation between the countries in both general and professional, science and technology fields.
According to the Ministry’s note, it should be noted that Baia Kvitsiani, Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia was also present at the meeting.
