Eric Evelyn welcomes Azamara Onward on its debut call to Nevis

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: In a recent Facebook post, Eric Evelyn, the Deputy Premier and the Community Development and youth minister of Nevis, expressed the pride he felt in officially welcoming the Azamara Onward on its first-ever call to Nevis on January 9, 2023.

Basseterre, St Kitts and NevisIn a recent Facebook post, Eric Evelyn, the Deputy Premier and the Community Development and youth minister of Nevis, expressed the pride he felt in officially welcoming the Azamara Onward on its first-ever call to Nevis on January 9, 2023.  

The Azamara Onward carried around 641 passengers, who were welcomed to enjoy the eye-pleasing natural beauty and warmth of Nevis. Along with them, a crew count of 400 workers also got an opportunity to visit Nevis, and the cruise was stationed at the Charlestown harbour.

Eric Evelyn’s Facebook post read, ”Was really an honour to welcome the Azamara Onward on its inaugural call to Nevis today, Monday, January 9, 2023.”. Premier Mark Brantley also commented on the post, stating, “Something good is happening in Nevis.

Deputy Premier Evelyn welcomed the Azamara’s inaugural call on behalf of Premier Mark Brantley. In his welcoming words, Eric informed that he was there on behalf of Premier Mark Brantley and that he had sent his best regards and wishes on Azamara’s inaugural call to Nevis.

Evelyn further hailed the island of Nevis, stating that Nevis is well known for its historical sights, beaches and beach bars, cuisine and warm hospitality. “I’m sure that passengers on board will love the time they are getting to spend on shore and will take the best of the memories from Nevis with them.” 

Moreover, once Azamara has visited the Nevis, it is definite that it would come back to the island on an annual basis”.

At the same time, the Hotel Director os Azamara Onward cruise, Elizabeth Vogel, also expressed her pleasure in visiting Nevis on their tour of the Caribbean. She also presented plaques with Deputy Premier Eric and Evelyn and Ms Kelsia Liburd, Marketing Officer at the Nevis Air and Sea Ports Authority, to commemorate Azamara’s first visit to Nevis.

Eric concluded on a positive and hopeful note, noting, “We look forward to more calls from Azamara Onward in future. ”
