Tbilisi: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia celebrated the professional day on Sunday. Every year, November 3 is observed as Diplomats Day to recognize the services of Georgian diplomats working in foreign countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared this vital information with their social media handles. The ministry’s Facebook page stated, “On November 3, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs celebrates a professional holiday – Diplomat’s Day. This is the day when we got one wonderful opportunity to express our special attitude towards those people who play the most important role in representing our country on the international stage and unwaveringly protecting national interests.”
The Foreign Minister of Georgia also extended his best wishes to all ministry members. In his congratulatory message he said, This is a very special day and I would like to congratulate the Georgian diplomats on their professional holiday.
In his address the minister underscored the proactive role of diplomats in implementing the government’s foreign policy. He stated “Whether you serve as diplomats or in other positions, your proactive efforts are instrumental in overcoming the geopolitical challenges we face. Your work is crucial in achieving the declared goals of the Georgian people and the state of Georgia.”
According to him a peaceful settlement of the country is necessary to ensure Georgia’s European future and further development.
It is symbolic that the professional day of Georgian diplomacy is associated with the name of a tremendous Georgian public figure, Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani—a diplomat who made his way to Europe three centuries ago.
Minister underlined that It is worth noting that the European aspiration of modern Georgia is a kind of continuation and result of these efforts. The progress we have achieved in recent years in this direction is among other things is the result of the selfless work of Georgian diplomats.
Minister thanked all diplomats for the great effort and said, I once again like to congratulate you on your professional day and wish you further success in the service of your country.
