Tbilisi: The Ruling party of Georgia, Georgian Dream has appointed Tinatin Rukhadze as the new Minister of culture, science, and sports. The party also announced that it will separate the sports wing of the ministry.
It is worth noting that she has been appointed as the new minister following the resignation of Thea Tsulukiani. Thea Tsulukiani resigned to contest the election of the Georgian parliament. She is the frontrunner to secure her ticket for the October election from the Georgian Dream side.
At the new minister’s appointment ceremony, the Prime Minister of Georgia thanked the former minister for his unconditional services in the ministry and extended his best wishes to Tsulukiani for the parliamentary election.
The newly appointed Minister, Tinatin Rukhadze is a famous musician by profession. Moreover she is the current director of the National Youth Place of Georgia. She has worked on this post since 2016 till the day. In this way, she is familiar with the country’s music, art, and culture.
Meanwhile Tinatin Rukhadze the new Minister of Culture of Georgia, thanked the Georgian Dream especially the Prime Minister for showing trust in her. She in her thaking remark added that, “I am feeling proud for being elected on this post. I have worked tirelessly in this field for the last 35 years.”
“Now, as a new Minister, I will do my best to promote Georgian culture across the borders. It is a pleasure for me to have the opportunity to serve the nation as cultural minister” added new minister.
At the same time, PM Kobakhidze also revealed his government plan to separate the sports wing from the Ministry of Culture. He proposed the name of Shalva Gogoladze, First Deputy Minister of Culture, for the post of Minister of Sports, when a separate ministry will be created after the result of the election party comes to power.
Shalva Gogoladze, whose name was backed by the PM himself for a separate sports Ministry of Georgia, is well established lawyer. She also has experience in the field of sports. In 2017 she was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Culture in charge of sports affairs.
