Georgia: Ministry of Internal Affairs hosts citizens in Mtskheta on Independence Day

Georgia: The event dedicated to Independence Day and the exhibition spaces dedicated to the Independence Day by the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the central square of Mtskheta have been actively visited by both Mtskheta residents and city guests since morning.

Various units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs host citizens at information and exhibition thematic stands and special equipment and a Border Police helicopter from the Patrol Police Department, the Emergency Management Service, the Border Police, and the Special Tasks Department.

Citizens have the opportunity to get acquainted with the steps taken by the agency in the direction of European integration in accordance with European standards and successful reforms in the various information zones presented by the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

At the main entrance of the exhibition space, there is a simulated border-immigration control point of the patrol police, where visitors will pass the “border control” and get an information map of which zones they should visit.

In Mtskheta, the citizens who came to the event had the opportunity to listen to the real calls received at the Public Security Management Center “112” at the “Call of Life” stand. Also, get acquainted with the services of “112” introduced using modern technologies.

In the central exhibition space, visitors can view the stands, which house materials on Georgian-European relations and the history of independent Georgia.

Numerous thematic information-cognitive activities are planned for children, as well as entertainment spaces are arranged:

  • The service agency hosts small visitors in a mock city and offers them a fun test to get a bicycle driver’s license;
  • The forensic department has arranged a simulated scene, as well as children can learn in detail how to take fingerprints;
  • The Border Police presented a 2D model of the Coast Guard vessel;
  • The security police have arranged a simulated guardhouse for the little guests and offer them various fun cognitive activities;
  • The Emergency Management Service manages an information-cognitive show with the participation of firefighters;

 

Public Safety Management Center – “112” offers teenagers to participate in computer games created especially for them, using modern technologies, from which they will learn how to behave in an emergency. 

The winning children will be awarded special prizes.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs will host the guests in Mtskheta throughout the day, and in the evening, the event will end with a concert.
