Tbilisi: The School of Defense Institutional Construction (DIBS) has been granted the status of an Associate Partner by the Supervisory Council of the European College for Security and Defense (ESDC). With this decision, DIBS became the first educational institution affiliated with the European Union in Georgia.

The awarding of the status was led by the official visit of the delegation of the School of Defense Institutional Construction to the Kingdom of Belgium.

During the visit, the school principal and the deputy head of the European Security and Defense College (ESDC) attended the meeting of the Academic Council. The meeting discussed European security and defence policy priorities, as well as the role and  importance of the EU and related educational institutions in the process of promoting international security.

At the Board Meeting, the School Principal spoke about DIBS activities and highlighted the school’s ability and desire to support European security through educational activities.

The Academic Council unanimously supported the DIBS-associated membership. The School of Self-Defense Institutional Rebuilding, as an Associate Partner, will support EU learning tasks and plan joint learning activities.
