A working meeting was held within the framework of the ongoing project “Expansion of the early notification system of multiple threats and use of climate information in Georgia.” It was organized by the National Environment Agency and supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
The LEPL National Environmental Agency of Georgia shared glimpses of the working meeting on its official Facebook Page on July 10, 2026, Friday. The Agency also shared a small note about the meeting along with its glimpses.
The meeting was attended by the head of the agency, Elene Ghubianuri, the deputies of the chief, Irakli Megrelidze and Tamar Sharashidze, the donor organization, as well as the ministry and representatives of all relevant government agencies.
The aim of the meeting, for the representatives of interested government agencies, was to introduce the new Information and Communication Technology (ICT) system to be implemented at the National Environment Agency, which will further contribute to strengthening inter-agency collaboration and promoting the effective use of ICT system capabilities within the early notification system.
ICT system is one of the most important components of a modern early notification system. It enables the operational collection, processing, analysis, and timely dissemination of relevant warning data from various sources, which is important in terms of coordination between state agencies and informing the population.
It is worth noting that the implementation of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) system in Georgia, supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the project “Expansion of multiple-threat early notification system and use of climate information in Georgia,” funded by the Climate Institute of Finland, has been completed.
