The statistics office of the Republic of Georgia recorded a significant 13.6% growth in the third quarter in the transport sector of country. The data also suggested that the big share in this belong to the airline sector of country.
The data was released by office on Monday and referred to decline in share of railway sector growth as well. At the same time there was 13.6% rise in the business of cargo movement at the Georgian ports as well as at the terminals across Georgia.
The 45% growth in airlines sector is being seen as the big achievement of the transport sector of country. The shares of freight transportation also increased as it transports almost 69600 tonnes freights and recorded an 2.5% increase than the previous years.
The railway sector saw a total freight transportation of 3.6 million tons, marking a decline of 0.7 percent from the same period last year. The composition of freight transport reveals a reliance on domestic shipments accounting for 10.1 percent and international freight excluding transit for 30.5 percent and a substantial 59.4 percent attributed to transit activities.
Similarly the Georgian railway contributed in big way in the economy of Georgia with total fright transportation of 3.6 million tons of freight across the globe However the sector witnessed a big decline in its share than previous year as well. As per the data of office most of the passenger travel to and from Armenia.
The sea route terminal of Georgia received big number of 4,121 ships in the third quarter.  In this the account of the General cargo is 34.2 percent in this number of transports.  The Georgian seaports have ferried a total 2,000 passengers and most  of them were served by domestic seaports.
