Abasha, Georgia: Georgian Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture Kakha Kakabadze listened to a report on anti-pest measures. He review these measures at a working meeting in the Asian Pheasant Coordination Management Center in Abasha Municipality.
The Head of the Management Center, Lasha Shalamberidze, presented the current year’s report and information about planned activities. Zurab Lipartia, deputy head of the National Food Agency, and agency specialists attended the meeting.
The process of fighting the Asian thyroid was conducted according to the state program. The monitoring process was carried out at the first stage, and the results were taken into account when the next stage, poisoning, was carried out.
During the year, 213 750 ha of Area in the regions of western and eastern Georgia were treated with thermal fog, most of the Area was poisoned with cold closing technology, 7019 units of pheromone catchers were placed, and 153 584 units of ‘attract and destroy’ pheromones, which are designed to lure pests and then eliminate them, were used.
The guests checked the equipment in the control centre and learned about the working groups in the Samegrelo and Guria regions and the thermal fog treatment process on the spot.
