Khashuri Municipality, Georgia:Â The Representatives of the Khashuri municipality gathered to honor the memory of soldiers who made great sacrifices in defense of their homeland during the historic events of March 4-6, 1921. It was led by the Chairman of the Assembly, Nino Liparteliani.
With Liparteliani was First Deputy Levan Gamrekel, Chairman of the Mandate, Proportional, and Ethics Commission, Maka Mahanadze, Mayor’s Representative Vazha Engibadze, Head of the City Hall Education, Culture, and Sports Service, Konstantine Pruidze, and Head of the Department, Giorgi Kereselidze. Together, they honored the memorial in Osiauri village with a symbolic crown, symbolizing gratitude and respect for the community.
The significance of the memorial dates back to the central events of March 4-6, 1921, when the Georgian Army, under the leadership of Mtvarsardal Kvnitadze and Generals Mazniashvili and Sumbatashvili, launched a counterattack against the Red Army.
Ultimately the clash with the Red Army in Osiauri resulted in the loss of 120 Georgian soldiers, who laid down their lives in defense of their nation’s sovereignty and independence. Their unwavering courage and selflessness serve as evidence of the spirit of the Georgian people.
As the Khashuri municipality pays tribute to these patriotic heroes, the ceremony serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by generations to achieve freedom.
