Kutaisi: The Kutaisi Youth Center has been making every effort to uplift the standard of living of the vulnerable section of society especially the children. The center was established to help young people who are school dropouts or victims of mental health issues, Juvenile delinquency, etc.
It is to be specifically mentioned that at the Kutaisi day center of “Caritas of Georgia ” children from socially and economically disadvantaged families can avail themselves of educational, cognitive, and entertainment activities. They can enjoy these activities under the guidance of qualified teachers and psychologists.
It is well established that participation in non-formal education is crucial for the personal and professional development of people who are socially and educationally disadvantaged. At the same time, many initiatives are still being implemented in cooperation with an organization, namely “Youth Horizon.”
Most of the current programs are aimed at promoting the development of key skills of the Kutaisi “Youth Day Center” beneficiaries through informal educational activities and volunteer initiatives. The activity for the welfare of these people is normally held in two major stages.
It is also worth mentioning that during the first stage of the initiative activities based on important youth development issues such as leadership, active citizenship, volunteering, planning, and implementing initiatives are held. The number of experts on relevant topics are usually invited within the framework of the initiative.
On the other hand the second part of the project mainly consists of activities focused on implementing volunteer initiatives. Under these activities, many thematic meetings are organized with the support of invited experts.
Notably increasing the participation of young people in non-formal education and promoting the culture of volunteering is essential for improving the quality of education and strengthening personal and career competencies. It is especially important to promote the involvement of vulnerable groups in such activities.
The NGO (Non-Governmental Organisation) “Volunteer” shared the information on their official Facebook page. Another NGO “Education Development and Employment Centre ” also shared this information which was appreciated by social media users.
