Georgian Minister of Culture Tinatin Rukhadze attended a choral music concert held at the Vano Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatory. This was dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Department of Conducting of the Academic Choir of the Conservatory.
It is worth to note that during the meeting the Georgian minister, Tinatin Rukhadze congratulated the choral department on the anniversary and promised financial support to the Tbilisi Women’s Choir on behalf of the Ministry of Culture.
As the Minister stated, the Tbilisi Women’s Choir, led by Omar Burduli, will receive state funding from the Ministry of Culture this year. This is aimed to support choir for more dedicated efforts for spreading rich heritage and culture of Georgia in all the world.
At the concert, the Tbilisi Girls’ Choir, the Youth Chapel of the National Palace of Students and Youth and the Tbilisi Women’s Choir performed samples of Georgian choral music and works by Western European composers. It is to be noted that the National Palace Youth Chapel made its debut at the choral music concert.
The evening was hosted by Omar Burduli, Assistant Professor of the Department of Conducting of the Academic Choir of the Conservatory, Music Director of the National Palace. The hall was full of audiences who came there from all around the country. They appreciated every performance given by the members of this group also.
The audience said this is the first time they have enjoyed such an electrifying performance. They expressed hopes that this group will continue its efforts to make the country’s rich heritage and culture famous all over the world.
On the other hand, the minister while addressing the attendees said that the ministry is working round the clock to help the Georgian folk groups who are spreading rich heritage and cultural values of Georgia.
