Georgian Trampoline athletes return from Portugal

The members of the trampoline team of Georgia have returned from Portugal. They returned after participating in the European trampoline championship there. The team recorded a historic victory at the event.

European trampoline is europe’s main trampoline championship. The jumping championship recently ended in Portugal. The Georgian girls youth team Nino Koridze, Ana Lapiashvili, and Maia Bochoridze showed a historical result at the continent’s championship.

Moreover the Georgian trampoline jumpers earned gold medals for the first time in history in team competition. In synchronized jumping among young people players like Maia Bochoridze and Ana Lapiashvili won the European championship for the second time in a row.

Among the seniors’ team Luba Golovina, Mariam Ragimova, Anano Afakidze, and Teona Janjgava won silver medals in the team competition, whereas in synchronised jump Mariam Ragimovas and Anano Afakadze’s pair earned bronze medals.

At the same time the Georgian trampoline riders won two gold, one silver and one bronze medals at the European Championship. It is to be added that the Georgian trampoline riders showed a similar result for the first time in the history of independent Georgia.

The team members were received with great enthusiasm at the airport. To congratulate the athletes on their success Giorgi Arabuli, President of the National Gymnastics Federation of Georgia, Konstantine Lashkhi and fans were also present at the airport.

While welcoming the athletes all were given the bouquet by the President of the Federation and others on occasion. All the athletes were looking very happy and jubilant. They were posing for photographs with medals around their necks.

The fans were very excited to see their winning hero and shouted in happiness. All who were present at the airport clicked a group photo also. The athletes also thanked the president and others for the warm reception at the airport. They also thanked the government for providing financial assistance to boost the sports culture of the country.
