Hungary: Meeting for investment held in Georgia

A significant round table discussion was recently held in Hungary. The meeting was held to explore investment opportunities in Georgia

It is to be specifically mentioned that the Georgian Embassy in Hungary in cooperation with Enterprise Georgia and support of the state agency for promoting entrepreneurship, investment, and exports as well as the law firm Dentons in Budapest on Thursday brought together stakeholders. These are the stakeholders who are interested in exploring investment prospects in Georgia.

The event was attended by several companies through their representatives. These companies from Hungary holding an interest in expanding their investment abroad and studying Georgia’s business environment and potential opportunities added the Georgian Embassy in Hungary.

Georgian Ambassador to Hungary Tamara Liluashvili and Deputy State Secretary for External Economic Relations Katalin Bihari highlighted the strategic importance of bilateral relations between the two countries.
At the same time Mikheil Khidureli, the CEO of Enterprise Georgia, and Gabor Jenei, the CEO of the HEPA Hungarian Export Promotion Agency also delivered presentations for the event participants.

Hungary and Georgia shared a good diplomatic relationship for a long time. Hungary also supports Georgia for membership in the European Union.

The recent grant of the candidate status to Georgia by the Europan Council was also welcomed by Hungary. The roundtable meeting also discussed the impact of the EU’s membership on Georgia-Hungary relations.

The representative of the Hungarian companies stressed that they are looking for a good response from the Georgian Government. They also expressed hopes that the economic relations between both countries will play a crucial role in strengthening the diplomatic relations between both countries as well.

The Georgian ambassador assures the company’s officials that the Geogrin government is always committed to inviting foreign company to expand their business. According to him the investment by foreign companies will also provide job opportunities to Georgian young people.
