The Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbáni on 12 April 2025, Saturday. The parties discussed the friendly relations between Georgia and Hungary, emphasizing the positive outcomes achieved in the development of their partnership over the past few years.
The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze shared glimpses of his meeting on his official Facebook page along with a short note about the meeting.
According to the information shared by the Prime Minister, it should be noted that the parties spoke about the friendly relations between Georgia and Hungary and their successful cooperation in a variety of areas.
It is to be further added that the two leaders talked about the current status of Georgia-Hungary relations, emphasizing areas of current cooperation as well as potential future partnerships. The meeting was valuable, Kobakhidze said, emphasizing “the importance of deepening bilateral cooperation.”
The conversation also touched on the same difficulties facing Georgia’s European integration process, the Georgian prime minister emphasized.
Notably, Hungary’s strong position on Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration was underlined. It was noted that support from Hungary, in light of its upcoming EU presidency, acquires even greater importance, as the Georgian Government’s efforts are channeled toward advancing to the next stage in the process of the country’s European integration.
The topic of discussion included the potential for further strengthening the two nations’ economic and trade relations as well as their fruitful collaboration in the fields of culture and education.
It should be noted that the meeting between Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbáni and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze was held within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, which takes place from April 11-13.
