Prime Minster Irakli Kobakhidze, met with his counterpart from Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. In the meeting both have discuss multiple issues having bilateral significance. PM along with his delegation is visiting Armenia on an official visit.
PM Kobakhidze himself shared glimpses of this meeting on his social media handles. PM on his official Facebook page stated that, “I met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan. During the face-to-face meeting, we emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership between the two countries and discussed the issues to be discussed within the framework of the 14th session of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation.”
According to prime minster they have paid special attention to the current situation in the region and the progress of the peace process. Moreover, PM Kobakhidze once again confirmed the readiness of the Georgian government to promote dialogue and contribute to ensuring stability and peace in the region, which is necessary for the further development of the countries.
They also emphasized the high-level dialogue between the two countries in various formats and close cooperation in many areas, which contributes to the further deepening of bilateral relations.
It is worth to note that it was noted during the meeting that the next session of the intergovernmental economic commission will contribute to the further expansion of trade and economic ties between the two countries and the full utilization of the existing potential in this regard.
Notably both counties have long history of bilateral relations as both are former states under USSR. Since the dissolution of the USSR both states declared themselves independent nations.
