Prosecutor General Giorgi Gvarakidze will present the Prosecutor’s Office’s 2025 activity report to the Legal and Human Rights Protection and Civil Integration Committees of the Parliament of Georgia and at the plenary session.
The 2025 report reflects all the main areas of the Prosecutor’s Office’s activity – the criminal justice policy implemented, the priority areas of the Prosecutor’s Office’s activity, current trends, challenges facing the system today, and plans, the implementation of which will help the Prosecutor’s Office develop and increase its efficiency.
The report notes that the priority remains to implement a strict policy against such crimes as: legalization of illegal income, drug crimes, trafficking, crimes committed against minors, violence against women and in the family, inviolability of private life, and economic crimes.
The report submitted by the Prosecutor General to the Parliament of Georgia discusses victim-centered criminal justice policy, protection of the rights of minors and persons with disabilities, and improvement of the quality of justice, corruption, as well as drug and organized crime. The report also discusses money laundering, fraud, and family crimes.
The Prosecutor General will discuss, among other important issues, the priorities envisaged by the strategy of the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, such as implementing a victim-centered criminal justice policy and protecting and strengthening victims’ rights.
According to the report, to effectively protect victims’ rights and provide them with emotional support, the agency is improving the quality of the activities of witness and victim coordinators.
The report also notes that in 2025, in order to achieve greater transparency and accountability to the public, information was proactively disseminated, both on general statistics and current trends, as well as on individual criminal cases of high public interest.
Following the presentation of the Prosecutor’s Office’s activity report, the Prosecutor General of Georgia, Giorgi Gvarakidze, will answer questions from MPs.
