The four opposition parties of country have asked new leader of Syria to accept Georgian authority over Russian occupied area. They also asked Syria to revoke recognition to Russian occupied territories.
While extending their best wishes to new leader Ahmed al-Sharaa they urged him that to make bilateral relation between two countries more stable new leader have to play a greater role. If Syria revokes its recent recognition to Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region/South Ossetia than it will be write new history of bilateral relations.
The opposition parties while underling peaceful struggle of Georgian people added that, “Syrian new leader must honour long struggle of Georian against dictatorship being backed by Kremlin in occupied territories.”
They while raising their demand further added, we all the four parties want to express will of Georgian people in front of new Syrian regime. The revocation of this recognition to Russian occupied territories will be best gift by Syrian government to Georgian people.
Moreover, this will make stand of Syria government more crystal clear. They at the same time also asked new leadership of Georgia to recognise these Russian occupied territories as independent states.
The parties which sign this appeal to Syrian includes the United National Movement, Strong Georgia, Gakharia – For Georgia, and the Coalition for Change. In this appeal they said that the illegal occupation of these territories by Russia is only backed by only few authoritarian regimes such as Venezuela and Nicaragua.
Although previous Syrian regime under Bashar al-Assad was also among those who accepted Russian rights over occupied territories. However new government can being change in its policy and bring change in bilateral relation with this new step.
It is worth to note that both the countries shared long history of positive bilateral relations. Moreover, both countries used to shared mutual friendship. The appeal if accepted will change whole Geopolitics of region.
The Syrian government will have long effects on bilateral relation which were very cordial before Assad regime when he took many decisions under Russian influences.
