Georgia: Samegrelo-Upper Svaneti State Trustee David Verava hosted a working meeting with the mayor of the municipality, deputy mayors, and heads of the office on Thursday, April 17, 2025. The goal of the meeting was to discuss the projects, existing challenges, and their solutions.
The Representatives of the government met with the directorate of the Public School of Letsitsitschvaye and the head of the Martvili Educational Resource Center. The school in the village has been functioning since 1927 and has a great history.
According to the director of the school, it is necessary to build a new school. According to the State Ombudsman, “With the involvement of the Ministry of Education, we will try to build one more new school in our region, in the tightest possible terms“.
After the meeting, the state commissioner and Martvili Mayor, Tornike Janashia, discussed on-site the construction of a motor bridge in the Abedati administrative unit, Jolevi district.
The project’s framework includes the construction of a bridge that satisfies new, contemporary criteria. Moving across the river was risky because the bridge was damaged during the storm. The bridge’s construction is funded by 1,499,200 GEL from the state budget and is completed as part of the liquidation process.
Additionally, the State Trustee examined the ongoing development of the Peace Street amenities center in Martvili Municipality. The project includes a yard, a garage, a laundry room, a warehouse building, and an administrative building. The center will be able to operate even more efficiently and provide better services thanks to renovated infrastructure.
During the meeting, David Verava also got to know about the construction of a mini-stadium at the intersection of Peace Street and Lermontov Streets, which is also in the phase of completion.
It is worth mentioning that within the scope of the project, a new, modern standards artificial stadium is being built. The project will promote sports and a healthy lifestyle. Stadium construction works are carried out by funding from the local budget and funding of projects implemented in the regions of Georgia.
