Tbilisi: Shalva Gogoladze, Georgia’s first deputy minister of culture and sports, congratulated the national weightlifting team and wished its members success at the recently concluded European Championship.
It is worth noting that the Georgian national team has achieved many remarkable achievements. In his message the minister stated, “This is a very special day as our players have made all of us proud. I congratulate the national team of weightlifters under 20 and 23 years of age of Georgia on their success at the European Championship.”
It is to be added that the First Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports of Georgia, Shalva Gogoladze also met with the members of the national team of weightlifters under the age of 20 and 23, coaches, members of the medical team and representatives of the National Weightlifting Federation of Georgia.
At the same time, Shalva Gogoladze congratulated the athletes on their success at the European Championship and wished them success in future competitions.
The First Deputy Minister also congratulated the Federation for hosting the European Weightlifting Championship in 2026. The European Championship will be held in Batumi in 2026 and the minister called this a proud moment.
At the European Championship held in Poland the Georgian national under-20 and under-23 weightlifting teams won 38 medals. The total number of medals includes 6 gold, 20 silver, and 12 bronze medals in deadlift, weightlifting, and double wrestling respectively.
Georgia took second place among the under-20 and under-23 teams. To celebrate their success at the European Championship, the weightlifters signed a final, which will be given to the Georgian Sports Museum.
The Georgian Ministry of Sports official also shared glimpses of this event on their official Facebook page. The ministry official stated, We would like to remind you that the Ministry of Sports established the tradition of training sportspersons with the latest equipment.
