Tbilisi: The Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University completed its 105 years of establishment. On this event, the Georgian Minister of Education and Science Mikheil Chkhenkeli congratulates Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University on its 105th anniversary.
As the Georgian Education Minister, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, remarked: “I congratulate my alma-mater Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University on its 105th anniversary.”
More than a century has passed since prominent Georgian scientists united around a national idea and laid the foundation of the most important cause for our country – founding a National University with European standards.
Exactly on February 8, on the day of the great Georgian king David Aghmashenebeli, the first higher educational institution was founded in South Caucasus and became the main centre of education in the region.
From the day of its establishment, Tbilisi State University, with its focus on the development of higher education and science, has played a groundbreaking role in preserving our country’s unity and national self-sufficiency.
“For me as a university student, it is especially proud that Tbilisi State University continues its centuries-old tradition with dignity and makes a great contribution to the education of young generations even today. The team of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and I always stand by the university and will further promote it in its historical mission together.
Once again, I congratulate the whole society on the anniversary date of Tbilisi State University, especially to the university’s students, professors, staff and administration. I believe that generations will be raised at the university, who will name Georgia on the international arena and will contribute to the development of our country”.
