During two days, guests of the festival had the opportunity to get acquainted with mountainous Adjara, culture, cuisine, traditions. The festival is held on the European Square this year too.

The village tourism festival was held in Batumi from November 25-26, 2023. The second day of the festival was colourful and outstanding.

The festival offered a variety of activities and attractions for the guests, such as:

  • Village products sale and exhibition, where visitors can buy and taste local food, wine, honey, cheese, and other agricultural products.
  • Funny contests and masterclasses, where visitors can learn and participate in traditional skills and crafts, such as the Ganda Gana dance, preparing churchkhela (a Georgian candy made from grape juice and nuts), distilling chacha (a Georgian pomace brandy), village bowling with pumpkins, chopping wood, cooking dinner (a Georgian cheese pie) and borane (a Georgian cheese dish).
  • Folklore show, where visitors can enjoy the performances of local folklore bands and singers, who present the rich musical heritage of Adjara.

The visitors attended masterclasses of traditional Adjarian dishes and enjoyed delicious Adjarian cuisine in the culinary space. That beautiful space featured Adjarian weaving and faking patterns.

The Ensemble “Shivkatsa”, “Abkhazia”, “Ranina”, “Gordela”, “Bani”, “Mgjavrebi”, and “Tamada” took care of the guests of the festival.

The festival aimed to promote rural tourism and sustainable development in Adjara and preserve and celebrate the unique culture and identity of the mountainous villages.

The festival also attracted tourists and visitors from other regions and countries who experienced Adjara’s authentic and diverse lifestyle.
