Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili today met Ambassador of Armenia to Georgia Ashot Smbatyan. At this important meeting both sides discuss many bilateral issues.
In the beginning of meeting Armenian ambassador Smbatyan congratulated Kavelashvili for his new appointment as President of Georgia few months ago. The new President was elected in month of December amid large scale controversy.
The former president of Georgia even declined to quit the office. She also termed this election of new president illegal due to large scale violation of rules and regulation as well.
It is worth to mention that recently the Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze also met with Armenian Ambassador to Georgia. In that meeting also both sides agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation between both countries as well.
It is also to be noted that in this recent meeting of President with Ambassador issues of “historically strong” friendship and partnership between the two countries was discussed again as well.
Moreover, at the same time both partis also discusses measures that can be implemented for further deepening the relations. As per the sources the President as well as the Ambassador exchanged their views about current political situation in country also.
As per the Ambassador the internal peace in Georgia is very important and necessary for overall peace in while region. Moreover, a peacefully Georgia will also be helpful to fight against the anti-national forces of country.
He also urged the Georgian president to use his position for peaceful solution to current political situation in country. According to them the current political situation will also disturb bilateral relation of the Georgia with other countries of world especially European countries.
Notably Georgia is witnessing large scale protest since the decision of Georgian Dream government about its accession to European Union. The protesters are demanding that government should take this decision back.
They also alleged that this decision has been taken under the Russian influence. They also alleged Georgian Dream government is allowing unnecessary interferences of Georgia is internal matter of Georgia.
