With the support of the Georgian Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth and the auspices of the Youth Agency of the Republic of Georgia, a youth camp was opened in Shaori, which will receive a total of 800 young people, including eight children.
The Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia shared glimpses of the camp on its official Facebook page on Saturday, August 2, 2025. The Georgian Education Ministry also shared some information about the camp along with its photographs.
The Georgian Minister of Education, Science and Youth, Givi Mikanadze, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Bochorishvili, and Chairman of the Caucasian Affairs Committee Irakli Zarkua, met the participants of the camp.
The members of the government addressed the young people in a speech and answered their questions. This time in the Shaori camp, there are young people representing the Georgian diaspora living in Germany, Spain, Austria, Turkey, and Canada.
The camp program will last five days. During this time young people will have the opportunity to engage in educational, sports, and cognitive activities and meetings aimed at developing key competencies.
The main goals of the camp are to increase access to active recreation for young people, social integration of young people, the manifestation of their physical and intellectual potential, a healthy lifestyle, the establishment of national and European values, and the encouragement of patriotic values as well.
The Shaori camp is organized by the SP Youth Agency of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia. In cooperation with the Agency of Culture, Sport and Youth Affairs of Abkhazia, the next stream of the camp will be dedicated only to the refugees from Abkhazia.
