The Government of Adjara shared glimpses of the event on its official Facebook Page on September 10, 2026, Thursday. A small note about the event was also shared along with its glimpses.
According to the small note, it should be noted that the representatives of the Government of Adjara, the Supreme Council of Adjara, and the local self-government also attended.
Furthermore, Zurab Pataradze congratulated the residents on the public holiday along with his wife, Sopio Bakuridze. The Chairman of the Government noted that improving infrastructure, creating new opportunities, and empowering the local population remain priorities for mountain development.
According to the Chairman, Chakvitsthavoba is one of the most notable holidays, uniting the people not only of this valley but of the entire region. People from different municipalities gather here and discuss the development of the valley. Mountainous Adjara must be attracting more and more visitors.
Notably, their main goals were:
- to continue developing infrastructure,
- create new opportunities,
- empower the local population,
- more families to settle in the mountains.
“The Mtirala National Park is a true treasure of the region, and the projects implemented here create a solid foundation for the development of our mountains,” said Zurab Pataradze.
It is also worth noting that as part of the event, an awards ceremony for distinguished residents was held. The Chairman of the Government presented an honorary certificate to local citrus and beekeeping farmer Shakro Gorgeladze.
The Chakvitsthavoba festival was first established in the 1990s and was revived by the Kobuleti Municipality several years ago. The traditional festival, which was organized by the Kobuleti Cultural Center, concluded with a concert by folk ensembles and veteran choreographers, an exhibition of folk art and handmade items, and a master class on local traditional dishes.
