The members of the Georgian defence forces learned the techniques of first aid on the battlefield. The first aid training was given by Canadian instructors at the military medical school of training and military education centre.
First aid is also very important during in the battlefield and other military operations. It plays a crucial role in protecting the precious lives of wounded soldiers. Many times due to a lack of first aid the soldiers lost their precious lives. Due to its extreme importance, first aid is more important than normal medical treatment.
On this occasion the Canadian instructor also advised the armed personnel to take the course seriously. During the first stage of the training session twelve military servicemen of the Georgian Defense forces took the training. Moreover these instructors together with their Canadian colleagues trained 72 military servicemen in a combat lifeguard course.
A presentation was held on this occasion to provide training on the practical aspects of first aid. Similarly , medical experts who were present on the occasion shared their practical experience with the soldiers.
On the other hand the representative of the Georgian armed forces thanked the Canadian instructor for the successful first-aid training session. They also said that the central government is spending a lot on upgrading the country’s armed forces. In the future more such seminars will be held to prepare the defence forces on all fronts.
The Georgian army spokesperson also said that the money will be spent on the purchase of medical equipment. At the same time military personnel learned the rules for identifying wounded soldiers on a battlefield through theoretical and practical studies. These are training in tactical field assistance, medical evacuation requests, fracture management, bleeding control, etc.
Colonel Avtandil Abashidze and Canadian Military Attache in Georgia Turkey and Azerbaijan Republics Colonel Philip Suve awarded certificates to graduates at the conclusion.
