“International Folklore Festival of Georgian Culture “Ourseburebi”, which has already been established as a tradition, has become a symbol of friendship between Georgia and Turkey.
The festival was formed as a kind of cultural platform, which promotes the popularization of folklore traditions of Georgians living in Turkey, preservation of Georgian language, culture, identity and strengthening connections with historical roots”, – said the member of the High Council of Adjara – Friedon Putkaradze, in the city of Bursa, Republic of Turkey, at the end of the International Folklore Festival – “Ourseburebi” Gala Speaking at the concert.
A member of the legislative body thanked the neighboring country’s authorities and the festival organizers for the measures aimed at deepening friendly and cultural relationships between Georgia and Turkey.
The international festival “Ourseburebi“, this year, was held with the active participation of the Adjara government and dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the birth of Anzor Erkomaishvili, the greatest winner of Georgian folklore. Several events were held within the festival, attended by Minur Paksadze, a member of the High Council of Adjara, and other members of the Georgian delegation.
“Ourseburebi” ended with the final gala concert held in Bursa, and it, together with the Georgian side, Deputy Governor of Bursa Province – Salih Altun, Mayor of Bursa – Shahin Biba, Mayor of Kestel – Ferhat Errol, other local government representatives, President of the Federation of Caucasian-Georgian Associations of Marmara – Omer Farouk Demirtashi, chairmen of the associations, Anzor Erkom Aishvili family members, Representatives of the Georgian Diaspora, and guests were present.
Adjara Meliton Kukhianidze State Academic Ensemble “Arsiani” and Adjara State Vocal Ensemble “Batumi” performed in front of the audience with a full concert program. Choreographic numbers were performed, and Khakhlian and urban multi-voiced songs were sung.
The concert was also attended by the ensemble “Vizeburebi” from the Caucasian Folklore Association of Inegoli and the Georgian Choreographic Ensemble “Okhro” from the Orhangazi Caucasian-Georgian Folklore and Cultural Association.
Folklore Festival “Ourseburebi”, which has been organized by the Federation of Caucasian-Georgian Associations in Marmara since 2001, promotes deepening friendly and cultural relations between Georgia and Turkey.
