Kutaisi: A non-governmental organisation namely (Women Fund Sukhumi) disclosed how its performance and achievements are being praised. NGO management reiterated their commitment to work with more dedication for women welfare in coming years.
Recently a guest who visited NGO while praising the work stated, “For the first time, I felt such great help, hope, respect. I learned about social services and my rights there and how to achieve justice. I thank you all for your support, attention and warmth. I wish you great success in this difficult work that you are doing.”
These appreciations words were also shared by non-governmental organisation on their official Facebook page also. The official Facebook page underlined that,” it is always pleasure to hears the words with appreciation for our women’s Fund “Sukhumi” Rehabilitation Center.”
Lela Jalagonia is the project coordinator and heads the work of the rehabilitation. She shared the achievement and other data highlighting its performance in past years. At last year’s reporting meeting, she noted:
In 2024, 71 beneficiaries underwent rehabilitation at the Centre (39 women and 32 minors). The Centre conducts complex work with victims of violence, survivors of violence and women in crisis. Every woman leaves the center stronger, more confident and more informed.
The director of centre also stated that, the most of the women victim who comes to seek the assistance have overcome the crisis and family conflicts, changing their lives. 28 women are participating in central and local social programs currently. The rehabilitation centre continues its usual work with women and children.
There are many other social and non-governmental organisation that are working round the clock for welfare of women victim of domestic violence and other social discrimination.
The last year data released by one of another organisation working for women welfare also suggested that domestic violence is still a big problem in country. Moreover, data also revealed miserable fact that women are still number one victim of domestic violence related incident as well.
