Sagarejo Municipality, Georgia: The road paving’s opening phase on 11th Street located in the village of Ninotsminda in the Sagarejo Municipality is now underway. It aims at repairing the road adjacent to the monastery of Ninotsminda for improved access by locals and visitors alike.
Mayor of Sagarejo Municipality, Avtandil Gulikashvili, together with his first deputy Emzar Kuchuashvili, and officials and the head of the infrastructure department on the south side of the river came to monitor the progress of the work.
Sagarejo Municipality City Hall published the snippets of the working visit on their official Facebook page on 6 April, 2025. Furthermore, the municipality will also disseminate information about the project on the official sources about the changes of the new region addresses.
The project is being funded by both the Regional Development Fund and the local municipality budget. This partnership aims to improve roads in the area and support everyday needs of the residents.
Completion of the road pavement
As outlined in the construction agreement, the roadwork is scheduled to be completed by the end of Spring in the year 2025. Currently, the crews are advancing with the task of preparing the roadbed and are in the process of applying the first layer of asphalt. The aim of the new road will be to improve access to the area, especially around the important landmark.
Road Paving Development for Safety Travel
This is just one of several ongoing projects aimed at improving infrastructure across the Ninotsminda region, particularly in rural and less accessible areas. In previous statements, local authorities have noted that the improvement in the roads also improves access to healthcare, education and even economic opportunities.
In the recent past, Sagarejo Municipality has been assigning road rehabilitation works in their villages to areas that have been neglected for a long time, and suffered from dire road conditions during winter months, when unpaved or damaged roads become fully inaccessible. The newly built infrastructure also enables farmers a fairer and improved market reach, along with decreased vehicle damage and faster emergency response times.
