The annual aviation forum, connect 2025 was attended by TAV Georgia. The event was held in Palau de Fires, Girona, Spain from February 3 to 5, 2025.
The event was attended by large number of stakeholders associated with international aviation markets. The Tbilisi and Batumi International Airports were represented by the TAV Airports Marketing Department. TAV Georgia is subsidiary of “TAV Airports Holding”.
The company (TAV Georgia) is looking after the operation of Tbilisi and Batumi airport since 2025. Moreover, as per terms and conditions of agreement it will continue to oversee operation of Tbilisi and Batumi airport till 2025.
The information as well as glimpses of event were shared on social media handles by management of Tbilisi and Batumi international airports. The official Facebook page stated, “The TAV Georgia attended the connect 2025 in Spain. Our representatives attended the meetings were held with more than 20 airlines, some of which are already operating at Tbilisi and Batumi airports, and some will start operating during the summer navigation season”.
The representative of TAV Georgia also, with the aim of discussing future cooperation held introductory meetings with three European airlines. They were provided with information about the potential and services of Tbilisi and Batumi airports.
Notably currently 54 airlines operate at Tbilisi International Airport and 28 at Batumi Airport. It is worth noting that during the summer navigation season, four additional European airlines will start operating flights from Tbilisi Airport. These are British Airways, easyJet, Transavia France and Edelweiss.
The aviation sector of Georgis is growing rapidly. The record number of passengers travel through airports of Georgia is last year, 2024. The entire regulation of Georgian aviation sector is maintained by GCAA, The Georgian civil aviation agency. This regulation includes the certification , taking safety measures, supervision etc.
The tourism attractions of Georgia are another factor which contribute for aviation sector growth in last years. This year again huge inflow of international air travellers is being expected at international airports of Georgia by industry experts.
