The Opposition Party, United National Congress shared their plans ahead of the General Elections, scheduled to take place on 28th April, 2025. The Party reiterated their commitment to laying out powerful plans with a vision to uplifting and enriching the lives of the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.
While prioritizing the needs and demands of each citizen of the nation, the UNC leader, Kamla Persad said that they are committed to building a better, safer and more caring Trinidad and Tobago. The UNC Party noted that from children to senior citizens and from parents to single parents, no one will be left behind and each citizen will be served.

- Affordable housing & streamlined approvals
- Support for teachers, students & parents
- Community programs that uplift and protect
- Job creation and small business support
- Public servants will get backpay and salary increases
- Property tax scrapped, CDAP restored, Couva Children’s Hospital re-opened
- Real crime plans. Real solutions. Real leadership.
The United National Congress Party noted that from healthcare, workers, education to safety and security, they are committed to making significant measures for the welfare and development of Trinidad and Tobago as a whole. The UNC said that they are not controlled by elites, they just follow one motto that is to serve the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.
“We believe in faith, family, and fairness. We listen, we show up, and we deliver,” said the Opposition Party. They further highlighted about the tenure served by the People’s National Movement and described it as painful. They noted that under the PNM Government, the netizens have dealt with poverty, lack of facilities and much more, especially the most vulnerable.
The Political leader, Kamla Persad therefore encouraged people to vote for UNC, and said, “When UNC wins, Everybody Wins.” The UNC emphasised the importance of each vote and said, “Because your choice of government determines your quality of life.” “How safe your children are, whether you can afford a home, access basic healthcare, or even put food on table.”
